Q. Where do your shells come from?

A. All of our shells are byproducts of the food industry in the Philippines. This means that we do not harvest the ocean for shells, nor do we endorse such practices. For more information on shells, please go to our Shell Description pages.

Q. Who designs your products?

A. Many of our designs are drawn up here in San Francisco by Bets, usually during the tradeshows. Simple line drawings are sketched out and sent to our artisans overseas. They make the magic happen, substituting finishes and textures as necessary. The rest of our designs come directly from the artisans. We may refine certain pieces or add more to compliment our other items and create harmonious lines of products, but their skill is unmatched in innovation.

On occasion we do special order pieces, either originals from our customers or variations on products already in stock.

Q. How do I become a customer?

A. If you are a retail store looking to carry our line, give us call or e-mail us your shipping and billing information and your tax id number, we will be happy to set up an account for you. Or if you prefer, shop our online Retail Shop for what you want.

A. Amati is a small family-run business currently located in San Francisco. With a small personal staff, Amati is pleased to serve it's customers like friends.
